The Senior Manager Systems Engineering/ R&D will be responsible for the innovation for the supplies and sensors R&D with a focus on identifying, assessing and developing new technology platforms – as well as New Product Development activities, Technical Service, Technology/Competitive Awareness, development and execution of Intellectual Property (IP) Strategy and for providing technical expertise within the Company. You will be responsible for managing high performing scientists/engineers in a lab/science related invention/innovation setting. Develops, designs, evaluates, and/or modifies systems consistent with customer and regulatory requirements. Develops system architecture, and ensures the integrity of the architecture/design. Work is evaluated upon completion to ensure objectives are met. Determines and develops approach to solutions. This position is onsite at our Lincolnshire, IL location. Responsibilities
Directs and controls the activities of several departments in a functional discipline within a product group, division, sub-region or country Contributes to the development of policy innovation and integrated business solutions with input into strategy formulation. Manages programs and/or strategic initiatives Develops and establishes operational policies within area managed, and delegates assignments. Accountable for and contributes significantly toward profitability and/or cost containment by indirectly impacting the P&L through Account, Product Line, Research and Development, Operations or functional management Develops and implements programs/solutions to improve processes, reduce costs and cycle time, and improve customer service Internally recognized leader who exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results Advanced knowledge in function, product, technology service, strategy, and business complexities in order to contribute to the development of creative solutions in area of expertise Qualifications
Bachelors degree with 12+ years of experience in engineering/ R&D or master’s degree with 8+ years experience in engineering/ R&D 8 years experience in managing a team of high performing engineers/scientists in a lab/science related invention/innovation setting Experience with development and execution of Intellectual property (IP), New Product Development activities and generation of patents Experience with Power BI and Smartsheets is a plus Zebra is an equal opportunity employer. USD 153900.00 - USD 230900.00 Yearly Salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience. Additionally, all Zebra roles are eligible for cash incentive programs. For example, sales roles have additional opportunity to earn substantial variable compensation tied to quota achievement. In most other roles, the Zebra annual cash incentive program links Company and individual performance together. Some roles may also be eligible for long-term incentive equity awards.
