Overview
Director of Catering & Conference Services opportunity at Pier Sixty-Six Resort, Fort Lauderdale. Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, you will lead project management of Catering & Conference Services and the opening of the resort. This role functions as the strategic business leader of the property’s Catering & Conference Services, developing and implementing departmental strategies and ensuring the brand service strategy and initiatives are executed. The position focuses on meeting guest needs, ensuring employee satisfaction, and growing revenues and financial performance of the department. We are seeking a well-rounded, seasoned leader with luxury catering and conference services experience. Oversee all aspects of the Catering & Conference Services Department, including secondary selling, servicing, and financial management of events at the Pier Sixty-Six Resort. Provide vision and financial planning for the department with strong communication and people leadership skills; manage an operating budget for selling and servicing event spaces. Supervise the execution of banquet events and coordinate with banquet managers and head house attendants as needed. Ensure client satisfaction from the outset of events and maximize revenue potential through upselling. Collaborate on preparation and analysis of the Catering weekly financial forecast. Maintain knowledge of hotel facilities, spaces, capacities, and operational needs of all departments. Make timely decisions balancing client needs with financial, safety, and staffing goals. Plan and attend meetings with hotel staff and clients (e.g., Morning Operations Briefing, CS Briefings, Banquet/Resume Meetings, Sales Meetings, Site Visits, Menu Tastings). Conduct performance evaluations and mentor Catering & Conference Services team; participate in hiring, termination, or disciplinary decisions as needed. Qualifications
Luxury Catering & Conference Services senior leadership experience required. Proven track record in upselling and closing deals. Strong revenue and budget management skills. Benefits
