Central Region Transit Market Sector Leader Partner with regional management and the Global Transit Market Sector Director to develop and execute transit and rail market strategies throughout the Central Region. Manage market opportunity assessment, client relationships, technical and marketing team coordination, staff growth and development, program and project management, and enhancement of technical competencies to meet client needs and market drivers. Provide strategic leadership on multi-discipline projects and programs across market sectors and geographic areas, including large capital programs, traditional delivery, and alternative delivery. Lead strategic planning and program growth for transit, intercity, and freight rail sectors; support client relationships, recruiting, staff development, and major pursuit coordination; assist with capture planning, proposal coordination, presentations, and negotiations. Support the Global Transit Market Sector Director in expanding services and contracting, ensuring alignment with market needs and staff development. Required Qualifications
A minimum of 10 years of experience in transportation planning and/or engineering with a majority in the market sector. Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, planning, or a related field (engineer registrations if applicable). Experience in development and management of strategic marketing programs for planning and/or engineering services. Experience managing client relationships and program/project pursuits; staff development including recruiting and career progression. Experience with industry associations and maintaining a visible market-sector profile. Ability to work cooperatively with Market Sector Directors, Business Class Directors, Regional leaders, and area managers. Demonstrated commitment to HDR values and active participation in our employee-owned culture. Preferred Qualifications
15+ years leading transit engineering and planning for major transportation infrastructure. Experience with major capital programs from planning through design and construction for private, federal, state, and local clients. Deep client relationships with transit and rail agencies or similar entities in the Central Region with proven success. Experience with transit funding program eligibility and requirements. Experience developing and managing strategic marketing programs for the transportation industry. Why HDR
