About The Role Our Data and Technology Transformation Practice helps corporations, private equity firms and other constituencies build long-term competitive advantage, accelerate revenue growth and drive investment valuations while optimizing cost. We bring together lean, fast-moving teams of expert technologists, digital specialists, and data scientists to advise our clients on their digital transformation agendas and transaction needs.
We work with clients to understand the impact of rapidly evolving digital paradigms and emerging technologies on the future of their business, translating that into an executable strategy and blueprint that combines business model innovation, customer experience strategy, modern technology and data architectures with a rigorous focus on planning and execution. We assist clients on their high-stakes transactions needs ranging from acquisition and divestment strategy to technology and digital due diligence, merger and acquisition (M&A) integration planning and carve-outs.
What You'll Do The Senior Director - AI and ML Operations Engineering will be a leader in the AI Transformation offering of FTI's Data and Technology Transformation practice. This role will advise businesses on designing AI-based solutions, platforms and architectures that enable enterprise use cases for creating business value. The candidate should have subject matter expertise in designing and implementing machine learning pipelines including a deep understanding of core ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow or Scikit-learn and 3rd party ML platforms from Palantir, Dataiku, DataRobot, Alteryx and other vendors. In addition, the candidate should have a strong understanding and experience with the integrated machine learning environments provided in Azure, AWS and GCP, along with emerging experience with Generative AI ML technical architectures that include pre-trained LLM and diffusion models such as LLaMA, ChatGPT, Gemini, Stability AI and Claude as well as Vector Databases and orchestration tools such as LangChain. They must be comfortable engaging with non-technical end users to understand objectives and be able to leverage their understanding of available machine learning designs to blueprint solutions and oversee technical implementations, done by others.
In addition, the candidate will be responsible for providing advice and recommendations to our clients on the strategic application of pre-trained artificial intelligence capabilities and suitable use cases for custom tailored solutions for a variety of problems and in a variety of industries. They must have knowledge and experience with black box AI capabilities for traditional tasks such as image and video recognition, speech to text, language translation and chatbots, along with a deep understanding of the intellectual property and data privacy issues inherent in using pre-trained generative AI platforms.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree 6 years of post-graduate experience Ability to travel to clients and to FTI offices as needed Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position does not provide visa sponsorship Preferred Qualifications Direct experience with production deployments of AI solutions, including machine learning solution design, pipeline development, support, and management Experience in a consultant environment to architect large-scale enterprise AI platforms ML/AI Certification: i.e. GCP, AWS, Microsoft, Azure, etc Deep working knowledge of MLOps processes, ML frameworks and programming tools Generative AI technical architecture including LLMs and diffusion models Understanding of industry standard system architecture and system management concepts and tools Experience with all-in-one solutions such as Dataiku, DataRobot or similar products
