is adding one Medical Physicist to the Radiation/Oncology group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. The Hospital is part of NYC Health + Hospitals. Kings County Hospital operates a world-renowned Level 1 Trauma Center, one of only three in Brooklyn, which serves 2.6 million residents of Brooklyn and Staten Island. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. Collaborate with the chairman/physicians of the department on all aspects of running the service. Perform annual physics program audits in collaboration with chief therapist and chief of service. Calibrate and maintain patient management equipment in accordance with applicable regulations and protocols. Perform all necessary acceptance testing and commissioning for all new patient management equipment. Assure compliance with all radiation safety and protection regulations and requirements. Actively participate in CQI/PI programs and activities/ACRO accreditation. Check patient charts to assure the prescribed delivery of radiation. Teach resident physicians radiation therapy physics, and equipment operation and safety. Provide technical input in design and construction of patient management rooms, and installation activities. Assure the appropriate management of brachytherapy patients and radioactive sources. Serve as consultant to hospital administration and other departments. Seniority level
