Overview

The Senior Design Engineer at Orthofix is responsible for assisting in the development of new medical device systems from concept to market introduction in accordance with FDA and ISO requirements. The role involves collaboration with other engineers to provide solutions to technical problems under supervision from senior engineering staff. What you'll do

Execute a range of responsibilities within the Product Development team, including instrument and implant design and development and leadership of projects. Support project-critical responsibilities from direct management or senior engineering peers while operating independently for many duties. Generate implant and instrument CAD models and detailed engineering drawings using Pro/Engineer/Creo to modify/maintain existing products and support new device designs. Generate documentation to support designs in accordance with Design Control and Risk Management procedures. Generate and analyze test data and reports to verify that designs meet functional and performance specifications. Interact with external and internal personnel to establish design inputs, uphold project plans, and achieve objectives. Interface with vendors on technical issues while supervising designs through the manufacturing process. Perform other related duties as assigned. What you’ll need

Education/Certifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field Experience, Skills, Knowledge And/or Abilities:

2-5 years of experience in the medical device field CAD experience with Pro-Engineer/Creo, SolidWorks, or equivalent Strong computer skills including CAD software (Pro/Engineer/Creo preferred), Word, Excel, charts, flow charts, and graphs Ability to use standard office equipment and software Qualifications (preferred)

Education/Certifications:

Master’s Degree in Engineering (Biomedical or Mechanical preferred) Additional Experience, Skills, Knowledge And/or Abilities:

The anticipated salary for this position in California is $91,000 to $110,000 per year, plus bonus and benefits. Equal Employment Opportunity
