This role drives schedule attainment, reduces past-due work orders, and partners cross-functionally to improve throughput, accuracy of master data, and inventory performance.
Responsibilities
Sequence production schedules in the most efficient and effective manner to meet customer demands while balancing capacity, changeovers, and material availability Build and publish a daily/weekly finite schedule for semi-finished goods; proactively highlight risks and trade-offs to stakeholders Evaluate and adjust lot sizing, lead times, and min/max parameters using consumption rates, container sizes, machine constraints, storage space, raw component availability, and lead times Monitor material availability and respond to shortage/expedite lists ("hot lists") to support production lines in a timely manner Conduct root cause analysis on past-due production orders; drive corrective and preventive actions to recover schedule misses Communicate to all necessary parties any changes that would require alternative scheduling to meet demand; facilitate daily production discussions as needed Collaborate with department leadership to ensure accurate production confirmations (time, yield, scrap) are recorded within SAP Cross-compare SAP routing data with actual production times to ensure correct information is stored in the system to accurately drive planning and costing; recommend updates to routings, work center capacities, and calendars Work closely with Production, Materials, Procurement, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering to resolve production issues and support continuous improvement efforts Utilize SAP and Excel to develop and maintain KPIs (e.g., schedule adherence, on-time to need date, past-due work orders, WIP turns, changeover hours) and to enhance reporting/visibility Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or related field; or equivalent related work experience 2-4+ years of production scheduling or operations planning experience in a discrete manufacturing environment Working knowledge of ERP systems; SAP experience preferred (PP/MRP, confirmations, routings/BOMs, and capacity planning) Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel (pivot tables and lookups; Power Query/Power BI a plus) Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to influence and align cross-functional teams Working knowledge of BOMs, routings, work centers, and capacity constraints; demonstrated ability to balance competing priorities under time pressure Preferred: APICS/ASCM CPIM or CSCP; Lean/Six Sigma certification;
