Description Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Senior Principal Engineer Systems Architect to join our team within the Systems Engineering organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL. The individual will design and develop system architectures, define key capabilities and performance requirements, and establish design and technology maturity constraints in accordance with customer specifications. They will develop a thorough definition of system external interfaces and define system implementation approaches and operational concepts to ensure requirements are met and evaluated with the customer.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in development of system architectures.

Architecture, CONOPS, and use case development using model-based systems engineering methodologies.

Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Perform system requirements analysis.

Automation workflow development of multi-disciplined functional processes in support of various engineering and business processes.

Basic Qualifications

Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 8 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 6 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 4 years of related professional/military experience.

Ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance (DoD must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time.

Must have experience with Atlassian Tool Suite.

Must have experience developing model-based systems engineering products and/or Mission Engineering using Cameo Enterprise Architecture.

Preferred Qualifications

Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Software Engineering with experience using Model-Based Systems Engineering.

Experience in the military aerospace development environment is preferred.

Experience integrating hardware and software in a lab environment.

Experience in software development, including interfacing with systems engineering and integration and test.

Ability to provide tool administration in tools such as Atlassian.

Experience in Digital Ecosystem design and maturity.

Benefits and Compensation Primary Level Salary Range: $118,600.00 - $178,000.00. Northrop Grumman considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position and candidate experience when determining base salary offers. Overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus may be available depending on the position. Eligible employees may receive annual bonuses and long-term incentives where applicable, along with comprehensive benefits including health, life and disability insurance, a savings plan, paid holidays, and PTO.
