Senior Software Engineer

General Motors . This role is categorized as hybrid. The successful candidate is expected to report to offices in Austin, TX, Mountain View, CA or the Greater Seattle Area three times per week, at minimum (or other frequency dictated by the business if more than 3 days). What You’ll Do
Own technical projects from start to finish, contribute to the team’s product roadmap, and be responsible for major technical decisions and tradeoffs. Participate in team planning, code reviews and design discussions. Build data pipelines that perform aggregations, enrichments, and feature engineering on raw data to support analysts and data scientists. Own the data pipelines that calculate topline KPIs, collaborating with AV PMs and Operations teams. Ensure data governance and stewardship, including data quality monitoring and building a data catalog for AV datasets. Support data science teams by delivering feature sets and optimizing production code. Use cloud technologies to design, implement, and test scalable distributed data systems in the cloud; continuously improve systems and processes. Collaborate with partner teams to achieve cross-organizational goals and manage conflicts across multiple teams. Conduct technical interviews and participate in recruiting; onboard and mentor junior engineers and/or interns. Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Experience building PB-scale data management systems (data lake, data warehouse) from the ground up. Experience building and optimizing data pipelines and related infrastructure for cost efficiency, scale and performance. 10+ years working with big data, Python, ETL/ELT, data modeling, SQL, data warehousing, data lake, data lakehouse. Strong proficiency in writing SQL for analytics. BS, MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent real-world experience. Passionate about self-driving technology and its potential impact on the world. Attention to detail and a strong problem-solving mindset. Base compensation typically ranges from $134,000 to $241,900; actual base compensation varies based on factors relevant to the position. Bonus potential: Incentive pay program based on company performance, role level, and individual performance.
