The Company Manager is vital to supporting the full company of actors, crew, and creative personnel for all Goodman Theatre productions. This role manages a wide range of administrative and logistical needs—including travel, housing, contracts, and day-to-day artist support—while ensuring compliance with Goodman Theatre policies and union agreements. The ideal candidate will bring direct experience with LORT collective bargaining agreements and a strong background in general management operations within a major regional theatre. They should be a proactive problem-solver with excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills and a collaborative spirit that fosters a supportive environment for artists and staff. Responsibilities

Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for production companies, representing the theatre with professionalism and care. Coordinate transportation, housing, hospitality, and daily needs for visiting and local artists. Provide ongoing support for out-of-town artists, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience. Collaborate with departments across the theatre to align artist activities and schedules. Draft and process offers and contracts in accordance with union agreements and institutional standards. Administer and ensure compliance with union labor agreements, including AEA, SDC, USA, and particularly LORT agreements. Negotiate with housing providers and vendors; manage related budgets. Oversee requests for complimentary tickets and house orders. Assist with planning and execution of opening night events and celebrations. Support general management operations and contribute to institutional planning and problem-solving. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Experience

3+ years of experience in the theatre or entertainment industry, preferably in a regional or LORT theatre. Demonstrated experience with collective bargaining agreements and union compliance. Strong understanding of general management practices in a producing theatre. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to navigate sensitive situations with discretion and diplomacy. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); familiarity with budgeting and basic accounting principles. A collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced, artist-centered environment. Model behavior and values consistent with Goodman’s Community Agreements and furthering Goodman’s IDEAA goals.
