City of Hope Orange County is redefining the boundaries of what’s possible in cancer research and treatment. We’re bringing access to our scientific expertise and highly specialized cancer care closer to home by building OC’s only specialty cancer hospital at our comprehensive cancer campus in Irvine, California.
The new hospital is the capstone of our 63-acre City of Hope Orange County campus. Where other hospitals must serve the full spectrum of health conditions in our community, every team member at this specialty cancer hospital—from the nurses to nutritionists to physicians – will focus solely on oncology.
Position Highlights
The Department of Surgery, Division of Colorectal Surgery, is seeking a board-certified Colorectal Surgeon with training in advanced oncologic colorectal surgery to meet the needs of our growing program in Southern California. This individual is expected to support our clinical and research programs in oncological Colorectal Surgery with an 80% clinical /20% academic obligation.

80% Clinical and 20% academic obligations; The position entails 4 days of clinical work (clinic and OR) and 1 protected day for scholarly achievements.
Support quality and safety and maintain clinical excellence and innovation, and develop clinical, administrative, and clinical research activities for our oncology-centered Colorectal Surgery Program at our Irvine campus
Clinical responsibilities include comprehensive outpatient and inpatient colorectal surgery management for colon, rectal, as well as anorectal pathologies with compassionate patient-centered care
Established and expanding referral base in Colorectal Surgery in the region
Wonderful colleagues and a collaborative team environment
Provide patient-centered care in collaboration an established multidisciplinary team of physicians and nurses at a state-of-the-art outpatient clinic facility.
Contribute to the development of clinical trials and research studies
Pursue academic appointments and participate in educational activities

Base Salary Range: $295,000 - $500,000 (Assistant to Professor level).

Requirements
Board Certified/Board Eligible In Colorectal Surgery
Evidence of past scholarly contributions and academic growth trajectory
Academic record consistent with appointment at Associate to Professor level at City of Hope National Medical Center
Selected candidate for the position must be eligible to obtain or already hold an active California medical license
Applicants must have a M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent degree
