The Geospatial Statistician works directly with public health GIS analysts, coordinators, epidemiologists, and technologists. The Statistician supports geospatial analyses by identifying and implementing the best techniques and solutions for complex public health issues. Responsibilities

Provides geospatial statistical support in applicable public health disciplines (environmental health, emergency preparedness/response, chronic disease, infectious disease, injury) Collects, analyses, and interprets scientific data within public health systems and databases Supports the selection of the best analytical methods and techniques for complex public health issues Applies a variety of analyses and techniques such as cluster analysis, regression analysis, sampling design, local and global measures of spatial association, and geographically weighted regression Utilizes geospatial and statistical tools such as R, SAS, SQL, Python, and the ArcGIS Suite Provides guidance and inputs in the domains of public health, environmental, and population data to support analyses Completes tasks on time with minimal supervision but supports collaboration across teams Required Experience

Must have or be able to obtain a Public Trust with the US federal government At least seven years' experience with Experience with ArcGIS suite of GIS products and extensions, and statistical software including but not limited to SAS, Python, SQL, and R Experience with identifying statistical approaches to best examine problems associated with environmental sampling and exposure, epidemiology, and health program planning and evaluation Experience with explaining technical concepts and applications to non-GIS project audiences Knowledge of geospatial and mapping concepts such as spatial analysis, map projections, etc. Excellent data management skills Preferred Experience

Recent experience with CDC environment and standards: SDLC, technical architecture, release processes Education & Training

Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Public Health, Geography, Computer Science, GIS or related field; Master's Degree preferred Salary Range

$80,000-$105,000 Salary commensurate with experience. Company Benefits
