We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Business Intelligence (BI) Administration Manager to lead the operational infrastructure, governance, and administrative functions of our BI platforms. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and compliance of our BI environment, supporting strategic initiatives across the healthcare payer organization. The Manager will oversee both modern and legacy BI tools, guide platform transitions, and collaborate across teams to maintain a stable and secure analytics ecosystem. Performs other duties as assigned.

Key Accountabilities

Manage daily administration of BI platforms, with emphasis on Power BI on Microsoft Fabric and Qlik Sense

Oversee user access, security roles, workspace management, and performance monitoring

Administer legacy BI tools including Oracle Analytics Server (OAS), SAS, and Crystal Reports/Business Objects

Lead transition strategy from legacy tools to modern platforms, ensuring minimal disruption and strong adoption

Collaborate with IT, data engineering, and analytics teams to ensure seamless data integration and platform stability

Implement and maintain BI governance policies, including metadata management, version control, and audit logging

Coordinate software upgrades, patching, and vendor support

Develop and maintain documentation for BI architecture, processes, and administrative procedures

Support capacity planning, license management, and cost optimization

Facilitate onboarding and training for BI users, promoting best practices and standards

Monitor system usage and adoption metrics to identify optimization opportunities

The successful candidate will be a technically skilled and highly organized leader with deep experience in BI platform administration, particularly within healthcare payer environments. They will demonstrate strong expertise in both modern and legacy BI tools, excel in governance and performance optimization, and collaborate effectively across teams to support enterprise-wide analytics initiatives.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in BI platform administration or technical BI operations, preferably in a healthcare payer environment

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

Expertise in Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and Qlik Sense administration

Experience with OAS, SAS, and Crystal Reports/Business Objects

Experience with Active Directory, role-based access control, and enterprise security models

Proficiency in scripting or automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python)

Experience with cloud-based BI environments (e.g., Azure, AWS)

Knowledge of ITIL or similar service management frameworks

Familiarity with healthcare data types (e.g., claims, eligibility, quality metrics) and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, CMS)

Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for BI deployments

Certification in Power BI or Microsoft Fabric administration

This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work onsite, on average, 3 days per week. We are open to candidates located near one of the following office locations: Minnetonka, MN, or Madison, WI.

The full salary grade for this position is $111,200 - $190,600. While the full salary grade is provided, the typical hiring salary range for this role is expected to be between $111,200 - $166,740. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data. In addition to base compensation, this position may be eligible for incentive plan compensation in addition to base salary.
