A Family Office that serves the founding principals. The Family Office provides comprehensive support across investments, finance, tax, and philanthropy. The team works closely with the principals to manage both long-term strategy and day-to-day execution.

Position: Senior Accountant

Description: The firm is seeking an exceptional professional to serve as the Senior Accountant within the Family Office. This role requires keeping all family information strictly confidential. The initial focus of the role will be to continue to build out critical reporting from Sage, our new general ledger. This position ultimately reports to the Chief Financial Officer with frequent exposure to the entire executive team.

Responsibilities
  • Update accounting processes to create more efficient and effective workflows
  • Assist with creating, modifying and documenting standardized internal controls that enhance segregation of duties and general safeguarding of assets
  • Aid in the automation of accounting processes, specifically surrounding accounts payable and receivable
  • Assist with creating and designing financial reporting for multiple entities
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes for multiple family office entities and prepare monthly financial statement packages
  • Track, record, and reconcile the acquisition and disposition of investments
  • Oversee cash management, including liquidity reviews, routinely update cash projections, and reconcile bank and brokerage account statements for various entities
  • Record monthly activity of multiple entities in the general ledger, including cash activity, accounts payable, accruals and expenses
  • Manage relationships with select third party vendors while ensuring accurate and timely payments
  • Research open items identified during the reconciliation process and provide follow up as necessary
  • Review, reconcile, and record journal entries
  • Identify, collect, and remit chargeback packages
  • Perform other ad hoc projects as needed
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree or higher in Accounting, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation, and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in financial services (hedge fund, private equity, asset management, or family office)
  • Demonstrate superb organizational, multitasking, and prioritization abilities
  • Exhibit close attention to detail and a commitment to excellence in all tasks
  • Display a high sense of urgency, initiative, and prioritization in addressing tasks and responsibilities
  • Demonstrate proactive approaches to problem-solving, displaying strong decision-making capabilities
  • Capable of engaging with individuals at all levels within an organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Exhibit the ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity
  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel
  • Strong aptitude for learning and adapting to new software tools and technologies, as needed
  • Prior experience with Sage Intacct and exposure to Box.com is beneficial, but not required
