DevOps Software Engineer / Principal DevOps Software Engineer - R10208706 at Northrop Grumman. Location: Melbourne, Florida or San Diego, California. No remote or hybrid work available. Travel: 10% of the time. Clearance type: Secret. Relocation assistance may be available. Start dates are contingent on program funding. Responsibilities
Provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems that are imaginative, thorough, practical, and aligned with program objectives. Apply in-depth understanding of technical principles, theories, and concepts within the field. Design, develop, document, test and debug software development environments and software pipelines. Conduct multidisciplinary research when needed and collaborate with engineers and vendors in planning, design, development, and utilization of DevOps systems for software production. Follow and ensure standards are met. Support the product team lead. Basic Qualifications
Engineer DevOps: Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with at least 2 years of experience, or Master Degree with at least 0 years of experience. Principal Engineer DevOps: Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with at least 5 years of experience, or Master with at least 3 years, or PhD with at least 0 years. Experience with CI/CD, automated builds and tests, quality gates, software quality, and CI tools (e.g., Jenkins). Familiarity with security coding standards and static/dynamic scanning tools (e.g., SonarQube, Fortify, Coverity). Programming and scripting in UNIX environments (C++, Perl, Python, Bash, Ruby, Shell) and Windows environments. Ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated Secret clearance (DoD in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access required for the position within a reasonable period. Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud orchestration technologies. Ability to collaborate in a team and to work independently to solve complex problems. Ability to work in an approved environment during specified work hours. Experience with software/hardware integration and rapid prototyping. Experience coordinating and delivering solutions across a large value stream. Experience with Atlassian tools. Familiarity with branching strategies, gated commits, and source-controlled management. Software Engineer: Melbourne, FL $77,200 - $115,800; San Diego, CA $89,400 - $134,200. Principal Software Engineer: Melbourne, FL $95,300 - $134,200; San Diego, CA $110,300 - $165,500.
