Best Buddies International is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, inclusive living, and family support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Best Buddies is the largest organization dedicated to ending the social, physical and economic isolation of the 200 million people worldwide with IDD. 9/25/2023 Responsibilities

Build the volunteer infrastructure within the state and incubation regions. Develop and implement state events and secure foundation and/or grant opportunities. Manage local staff, advisory boards and associated committees. Work with state programs teams to support local programmatic needs and facilitate introductions of new chapter leads or employer partner leads to the appropriate programs support. Develop and implement comprehensive statewide strategy for securing sustainable funding. Assume overall operational management responsibility for all fundraising activities statewide, including foundation and corporate giving, individual giving, major gifts, special events, annual giving, and alumni/parent relations. Manage local advisory boards, including recruitment, training, and retention of members; align board structure with Best Buddies Advisory Board guidelines. Identify, cultivate, and develop volunteers capable of participating in solicitation efforts and manage donor stewardship processes (gift processing and acknowledgments). Develop and implement major fundraising events to meet revenue goals using local event committees and adhering to organizational benchmarks/structure. Research grant opportunities and cultivate relationships with local funders; assist with grant applications and reports with the Grants Manager and funder relationships. Develop a statewide public awareness strategy and collaborate with volunteers for implementation. Represent Best Buddies in the local area through public speaking, community involvement, media initiatives, and partnerships with local professionals and agencies. Coordinate with local graphic artists, public relations professionals, and advertising agencies as needed. Contribute to state website updates and use Bene database appropriately. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or at least 4 years' relevant experience in addition to above experience. 3-5 years of fundraising experience including special events planning and donor cultivation. 3-5 years' experience and knowledge of working with volunteers and boards. 3-5 years' experience in staff management. Superior persuasive writing and presentation skills with the ability to articulate the mission, goals, and activities of Best Buddies with passion and enthusiasm. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with database management systems (e.g., Bene, BBO, Raisers Edge). Strong project management skills, including planning, analysis, decision making, and problem solving; ability to multitask. Self-motivated with initiative and drive for results; ability to lead individuals and teams in setting and achieving challenging goals. Comfortable engaging with people with IDD. Must travel, use personal cell phone, and work evenings and weekends as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities. Access to an automobile with applicable insurance. Job Details
