The ACCS Peer Specialist promotes the engagement, hope and the full integration and functioning of adults with psychiatric rehabilitation services needed to live successfully in the community. As an ACCS Peer Specialist you will provide Peer Support Services and help Persons Served explore their options and gain the confidence, skills, and resources needed to succeed in goals.
Responsibilities
Implement Peer Support-oriented Treatment Plan interventions with Person Served.
Provide support, education and advocacy, especially at times of service and life transitions (e.g., discharge from hospital, detoxification unit or respite setting; moving to an apartment; life stage challenges).
Engage Person Served in non-directive and supportive relationships that promote empowerment and self-learning.
Facilitate Peer Support groups as needed.

Qualifications
High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience as a recipient of services for people with psychiatric conditions preferred; must be well along in own personal recovery.
Lived experience with substance misuse/addiction accepted if the applicant has relevant training and is well along in personal recovery.
Must obtain or meet one of the following criteria within six months of hire:
Certified Peer Specialist; or
Family Partner as required by Community Service Agencies specifications; or
Experience as a caregiver of a youth or adult with special needs (preferably with a psychiatric condition) and appropriate education/experience pathways as described below.
Bachelor’s degree in a human services field with one year of experience with children/adolescents/TAY or adults; or an Associate’s degree with one year of experience; or high school diploma with two years of experience.
Experience navigating child or adult family-serving systems and teaching family members involved with such systems.
A valid driver’s license; incumbents must be at least 21 years old and pass a driver’s screening background check; access to an insured vehicle to transport Persons Served; willingness to use it.
Preference given to bilingual/bicultural applicants.
Pay Range USD $23.33 - USD $23.33 /Hr.
