Overview
Aircraft Mechanic I at Amentum. Performs organizational and intermediate level maintenance on C-12, C-26, T-6, and/or UC-35 aircraft. Responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, repairing and modifying aircraft systems to ensure continued airworthiness. Tasks cover avionics & electrical systems, engines, flight controls and airframe components. Repairs are performed using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills. Reads and interprets manufacturers’ maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Responsibilities
Perform duties as outlined in the purpose of this position. Comply with written Customer and company maintenance and logistics procedures and policies. Comply with FAA regulations as applicable. Understand and comply with contract performance work statement (PWS) requirements. Comply with aircraft records procedures outlined in DA PAM 738-751. Ensure aircraft discrepancies are properly recorded in accordance with approved maintenance procedures and contract terms. Understand functions and requirements of computerized maintenance software. Maintain a clean and organized work place. Perform aircraft recovery missions as necessary. Deploy to overseas locations to support operations requirements. Perform engine run or taxi operations and seek certification within 12 months of employment. Work rotating shifts if required. Provide own hand tools, marked, shadowed and inventoried AR I/A/W 95.20 (GOP). Report to Site Supervisor or AM3. Knowledge & Skills
Possess a valid FAA Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) license and comply with FAR 65.83 and recent experience requirements. Obtain/maintain secret security clearance. Ability to speak, read, write and understand English. Reliable, self-motivated, able to manage stress and timelines with professionalism. Experience & Education
High School diploma or equivalent required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a United States Secret Security clearance. US Citizenship is required. Two years flight line experience with specific experience on Army C-12, C-26, T-6, and/or UC-35 aircraft preferred. Physical Requirements / Working Environment
Be able to deploy to overseas locations. Must possess an unexpired US Passport and a valid driver’s license. Be able to perform aircraft mechanic duties and work in various positions as needed. Ability to move about the interior and unpressurized areas as required; meet aircraft weight limits. Stand, squat, sit, walk, and work with arms overhead for extended periods.
