We are seeking a highly skilled

Research & Early Development Scientist

for our client in Pleasanton, CA. This role will focus on

clinical sample processing —including DNA extraction, library preparation, target enrichment, and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS)—and contribute to ongoing research and development projects. This is a fully onsite position, requiring presence in the lab even when wet-lab work is not scheduled. Key Responsibilities

Perform routine molecular biology techniques (DNA extraction, library prep, target enrichment, NGS) with precision and compliance to GMP and design control standards. Work regularly with human biological samples (e.g., blood, plasma, tissue, urine, saliva) for nucleic acid extraction. Process multiple samples in parallel with accuracy and consistency using both single and multichannel pipettes. Adapt quickly to evolving protocols as processes are developed and optimized. Plan, design, and execute assay development and optimization experiments; provide timely project updates. Analyze results, troubleshoot, and recommend improvements for workflows. Maintain accurate and detailed records in electronic lab notebooks and shared systems (Google Workspace, ELN, etc.). Present findings and progress at team meetings and contribute to technical documentation and reports. Ensure strict adherence to lab safety protocols and shared space etiquette. Qualifications

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field. Minimum 5 years of recent, hands-on wet-lab experience in a regulated research or clinical environment. Proven proficiency with single and multichannel pipetting, including high-throughput workflows; experience with 384-well plates is a plus. Strong organizational and record-keeping skills. Ability to work under pressure with high-value, limited samples. Flexibility in working hours, especially during training. Cooperative, adaptable team player with strong communication skills. Preferred

Experience with NGS workflows (target enrichment, library prep, sequencing). Proficiency with PCR, qPCR, ddPCR. Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) or Microsoft Office suite.
