Non-Exempt About the Role
RADIOGRAPHER — Performs routine radiographic examinations to young adult-geriatric patients with emphasis on technical quality, timeliness, minimizing radiation exposure, and delivering appropriate general patient care. Key Responsibilities
Performs patient care functions, verifies patient identity, greets the patient, and remains responsible for the patient until discharge. Assesses patient condition and ability to participate in movement during the exam. Verifies demographic and clinical information on requisitions and orders; obtains additional history as needed. Determines exam sequence and maintains patient confidentiality. Performs requested/required exams in a manner consistent with departmental standards and quality expectations. Positions patients accurately for all routine radiographic projections per the Departmental protocol manual. Operates all equipment used for routine exams with accuracy and consistency. Determines appropriate exposure factors and adjusts controls to deliver diagnostic images. Demonstrates knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology. Practices proper aseptic/sterile technique as appropriate and performs imaging duties within a timely manner considering patient condition. Monitors radiation delivery, uses shielding devices, and reviews personal exposure reports to meet safety parameters. Performs non-imaging functions as needed (e.g., patient transport, clerical support). Assists other sections of the department when necessary. Job Requirements
