Overview

Clinical Maxillofacial Prosthodontist role at Inside Higher Ed. The College of Dentistry at The Ohio State University is seeking clinical-track faculty in the Division of Restorative and Prosthetic Dentistry with a joint appointment at Ohio State’s Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute. Primary responsibilities are performed in the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital’s Head and Neck Service at the Wexner Medical Center. Responsibilities

Administrative and supervisory oversight of the professional and laboratory support staff. Attend tumor board sessions; assist in developing clinical protocols; provide patients with comprehensive intraoral and extraoral maxillofacial prosthodontic care. Engage in research and scholarly activity; support the division’s mission; participate in university and college governance; contribute to continuing education programs. Engage in biomaterials, clinical and translational research opportunities as available. Teach in accordance with division goals; may serve as course director, including preparation and distribution of course materials, management of lecture/laboratory schedules, and grading of examinations. Provide interdisciplinary mentoring to students and collaborate with college divisions. Participate in college and/or university committees; maintain active professional organization involvement. Demonstrate alignment with The Ohio State University’s Shared Values and commitment to evidence-based dentistry and innovative technologies in education and patient care. Education and Experience Requirements

Required:

DDS/DMD degree or equivalent; a CODA-accredited certificate in prosthodontics and maxillofacial prosthetics; eligible for a regular or limited teaching license by the Ohio State Dental Board. Desired:

Board-certified with significant administrative and clinical experience, including fabrication of extraoral prosthetics; MS, PhD, EdD, or other advanced degree; Board certification by the American Board of Prosthodontics is highly desirable. Performance Objectives

Promote evidence-based teaching skills, proficiency in prosthodontics, and scholarly activity. Demonstrate passion for student education and apply advanced technology to enhance teaching and learning. Participate in teaching activities aligned with division goals; demonstrate effective teaching through student and peer reviews. Possibly serve as course director with responsibilities for materials, schedules, and examinations. Support a model of dental education that includes innovative technologies, interdisciplinary education, and evidence-based dentistry. The Division of Restorative and Prosthetic Dentistry includes Operative Dentistry, Dental Anatomy, Occlusion, Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics, Implant Dentistry, Digital Dentistry, and Dental Materials Science. Location and Status
