Overview
Area Revenue Manager - Remote at Sage Hospitality Group. The role focuses on maximizing revenue, profit, and market share for each property by managing demand, forecasting, opportunity analysis, and inventory. Responsible for setting sales strategy and pricing for transient, group, and catering while identifying market opportunities and communicating findings across the organization. Responsibilities
Monitor and analyze demand patterns to implement strategic daily selling strategies to drive REVPAR. Continuously monitor competition and make recommendations for system settings and rate placement for each hotel. Visit Sage properties to evaluate front office operations and staff. Develop training programs for reservations, guest service agents, and front office staff to optimize upselling and negotiation; ensure appropriate reservation sales training is conducted. Evaluate rate management capabilities and develop learning plans to educate general managers on day-to-day tasks and when to adjust settings and rates. Monitor daily flash reports and provide recommendations and support to staff as needed. Create and analyze competitive hotel information to inform decision making. Develop selling strategies including rate, arrival patterns, length of stay, and discount rate availability. Ensure updated information exists in all channels (reservation systems, internet, GDS, etc.). Identify revenue problems and opportunities with lead time to positively impact revenues; take a strategic approach for each hotel. Lead with collaboration, teamwork, and example-setting. Set a strategic mix of business and pricing strategies for each hotel based on market conditions to maximize revenue and profitability. Continuously analyze competitive sets, price positioning, seasonality, and mix. Utilize yield management tools to maximize efforts. Manage property participation and production through relevant internet sites and other distribution channels (CRO, GDS, ADS, and Travel Agency Consortiums). Develop business and marketing plans. Coach company managers to strive for revenue forecasts accurate within 5%. Seek continual improvement in revenue management practices and provide displacement analysis solutions as needed. Lead the annual Request for Proposal (RFP) process. Education and Experience
Four year degree preferred. A minimum of two years’ revenue management or reservations experience; multi-property experience strongly preferred. Knowledge and Skills
Excellent knowledge of transient, group, and catering customer segments. Strong personal management, time management, deadline adherence, and communication/presentation skills. Solid understanding of total hotel revenue management concepts, processes, and systems. Understanding of Brand strategies and Independent Hotel positioning. Knowledge of advanced revenue management techniques. Physical Demands
