Senior Director, Contracts, Alliances and Intellectual Property at Calico Life Sciences. Responsibilities

Lead the contracts and alliances group, providing business, contractual and intellectual property support for Calico’s external collaborations and internal research activities. Work closely with Calico scientists and external academic and industry collaborators to lead and negotiate a wide variety of agreements in support of Calico’s research and development programs, with assistance from Calico’s legal and IP counsel. Prepare and negotiate agreements including sponsored research agreements, licenses, CDAs, material transfer agreements, master services agreements, consulting agreements, software agreements and related amendments. Support active research collaborations and collaborate with internal groups (Senior Leadership, Alliance Management, Finance, and project teams) to advance Calico’s corporate goals. Report directly to the Chief Business Officer. Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required; Ph.D. or J.D. preferred. Extensive industry or academic experience with a minimum of 10 years in contracts negotiation/management or business development roles involving partnerships. Experience negotiating a wide variety of agreements in a research-focused healthcare company. Experience providing advice and managing an intellectual property portfolio in collaboration with IP counsel. Strong communication, independent decision-making, analytical skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, and proven ability to build internal and external relationships with scientific stakeholders to advance collaborations. Experience leading a group of contracts professionals is preferred. Must be willing to work onsite at least four days per week. Compensation

The estimated base salary range for this role is $298,000 - $302,000. Actual pay will be based on experience and qualifications. This position is eligible for two annual cash bonuses.
