We are hiring an MDS Director to join our dynamic care team at Marlborough Hills Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Marlborough. $4,000 sign-on bonus available. Plan, organize, and direct the MDS process, including overseeing resident care plans through clinical assessment, review of residents' medical history, personal interviews, and completion of MDS reports. Coordinate the MDS process and oversee ADL training for facility and staff. Issue and deliver denial notices timely and appropriately. Complete and transmit all CMS approved item sets (MDS). Maintain knowledge of, and follow, current CMS regulatory guidelines as described in the RAI Manual. Comply with facility privacy policies and protect residents’ health information. Maintain Medicare meeting minutes per Medicare program agreement and issue Medicare denial letters per CMS regulations. Manage residents’ Medicare/Insurance benefits and ensure documents support billed services. Perform other duties as assigned by manager. Qualifications
Must have a Nursing Degree from an accredited school of nursing, college or university; RN preferred. Must possess a current, unencumbered RN/LPN license in this state. Read, write, speak, and understand English. Ability to make independent decisions when warranted; ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the public. Ability to coordinate MDS systems, resident assessment, and care plans for each resident timely. Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, and laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care. Demonstrated leadership and supervisory ability; willingness to work with professional and non-professional personnel. Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, enthusiasm, and willingness to handle difficult residents. Willingness to seek and incorporate new methods and principles into nursing practices. Effective communication regarding emergency situations. Accurate and comprehensive assessment skills to ensure standards of nursing practice. Employment conditions apply.
