Sr Director - Middleware role at Broadridge. The Director of Middleware will drive the strategy and evolution of a dynamic tech stack spanning IBM MQ, SonicMQ, Kafka, and modern reporting platforms like Cognos, Informatica, and Tableau. This role leads global teams across the U.S., U.K., and India to streamline middleware, boost observability, and automate core processes—fueling speed, efficiency, and innovation. Co-own and evolve the global middleware strategy to align with enterprise priorities, modernization, and cost optimization. Lead technology rationalization and standardization, reducing complexity and improving efficiency across platforms. Define and continuously evolve middleware architecture standards, governance frameworks, and lifecycle management best practices. Partner with application, infrastructure, and business teams to deliver business value and client-first outcomes through middleware capabilities. Ensure high availability, scalability, and resiliency of middleware platforms supporting mission-critical applications. Champion comprehensive observability—standardizing monitoring, logging, alerting, and reporting for the entire platform. Drive automation of BAU tasks (e.g., deployments, patching, scaling, health checks) to reduce manual effort and risk. Oversee incident management and root cause analysis, building a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Ensure compliance, security, and audit alignment across all middleware platforms. Lead, mentor, and grow a diverse global middleware team—balancing technical depth with strong leadership presence. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and service excellence, encouraging experimentation and continuous learning. Develop career paths, workforce planning, and succession strategies to build a sustainable and future-ready team. Act as a trusted partner to senior leaders, translating middleware strategy into business value and measurable outcomes. Manage key vendor partnerships (e.g., IBM, Confluent) and evaluate emerging technologies for enterprise readiness. Qualifications
12+ years of middleware engineering/architecture experience with hands-on technical expertise (IBM MQ, Kafka, etc.). 5+ years of progressive leadership experience managing global, cross-functional technology teams. Proven track record of enterprise-level technology rationalization, automation, and modernization programs. Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior stakeholders while maintaining credibility with engineers. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field. Preferred
Experience with managing Web servers and/or reporting/analytics platforms (Cognos, Informatica, Tableau). Deep understanding of cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure). Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Compensation Range: The salary range for this position is between $200,000 - $240,000 USD.
