The Hartford . Position Overview:

Our

Complex Liability Solutions (CLS) team

is a dedicated group of underwriters, risk engineering consultants, and liability claims specialists experienced in hard-to-place products and premises risks, facing catastrophic exposures daily. This role offers an excellent opportunity for Middle Market, Primary Casualty, or Excess Casualty Underwriters seeking to expand into high hazard liability risks, including accounts often viewed as out of appetite for traditional retail carriers. Key Responsibilities:

Provide technical underwriting expertise in risk selection, pricing, administration, and account management of the CLS book. Underwrite new and renewal business in General Liability, Products, and Excess lines that are challenging to place, requiring strong exposure and control evaluation skills. Identify opportunities aligned with risk appetite and develop strategies for accounts. Consult with clients and provide tailored solutions. Manage account services through strategic planning and operational excellence, influencing pricing and terms positively. Establish and maintain a robust account pipeline. Manage sales processes, including planning and monitoring. Leverage cross-sell and up-sell opportunities across the team. Understand and communicate The Hartford's value proposition effectively. Hold internal and external customers accountable with professionalism. Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred. 3+ years of P&C Carrier Casualty underwriting experience, with a strong liability background preferred. Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external partners. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. High energy, resilience, entrepreneurial spirit. Solid organizational and time management skills. Goal-oriented with a results-driven approach. Ability to challenge the status quo and compete effectively. Technical knowledge and sound decision-making skills. Willingness to travel approximately 25%. Compensation:

The annualized base pay range is $97,500 - $184,800, based on market analysis and individual qualifications. Total compensation may include bonuses, incentives, and recognition programs. Additional Information:
