Oversee the compliance process of Federal and State individual, partnership, C- and S-corporations and trust tax returns Identify and resolve ancillary tax issues (e.g., SALT and international) and participate in annual tax planning and research Provide guidance and leadership to staff members Perform extensive tax research on complex issues Manage engagement team members to ensure timely completion of tasks and serve as a resource for the team Mentor staff and assist them in developing technical skills Maintain timely and accurate communication with team members and clients to manage expectations, deadlines, and deliverables Build strong client relationships and ensure client needs are met Demonstrate advanced technical aptitude in taxation and handle complex returns and projects Lead preparation of complex tax returns (individuals, C-Corps, S-Corps, partnerships, trusts, estates) for clients in various industries Review work of associates involving federal and state income tax returns Apply analytical and decision-making skills to solve complex tax issues Train new employees on firm technology, processes, and procedures Participate in practice development to build a network of referral sources Present ideas and improvements to enhance task performance and achieve firm goals Qualifications

Master’s degree in Accounting/Taxation CPA licensed 7+ years of tax experience in a public accounting firm (at least 1+ year in a Manager role) Strong analytical, research and critical thinking skills Ability to make and support decisions regarding accounting and tax matters Ability to perform and direct multiple engagements Excellent communication and writing skills Ability to mentor, lead, and train people and adapt to different learning styles Extensive knowledge of S-Corp and partnership returns CCH Axcess software experience Ability to work independently, but also in a team environment Highly motivated, self-starter with ability to multitask Doeren Mayhew is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
