As a professional in Financial Lines at The Hartford, your primary role will be to underwrite and actively pursue new business, servicing the needs of our brokerage partners on an account-by-account basis. The Senior Underwriter/Executive Underwriter will serve as a key member of the Hartford Financial Lines local region, reporting directly to an underwriting director on the Financial Institutions Underwriting Team. The Financial Institutions Underwriting Team focuses on management and professional liability products for public and private financial services institutions. Products include primary and excess directors & officers liability, errors & omissions liability, fiduciary liability and employment practices liability.
Responsibilities
Underwrite and actively pursue new business for financial institutions.
Service brokerage partners on an account-by-account basis.
Collaborate with underwriters and leaders; participate in decisions with key decision makers.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
3+ years of management liability underwriting experience for Senior Underwriter position; financial institutions underwriting experience preferred
5+ years of management liability underwriting experience for Executive Underwriter position; financial institutions underwriting experience preferred
Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining solid relationships with internal and external partners
Self-motivated to sell and market to Distribution Partners in the field
Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
Analytical thinking with the ability to propose solutions
High energy, resilient, entrepreneurial mindset
Strong time, organizational, and desk management skills
Ability to travel approximately 10-15%
Location This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in one of the listed office locations (Chicago, IL; Los Angeles, CA; Brea, CA; San Francisco, CA; Walnut Creek, CA; Greenwood Village, CO; Frisco, TX; Bloomington, MN) three days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
Compensation The listed annual base pay range is based on external market analysis. Actual base pay may vary above or below the range based on factors including performance, proficiency and demonstrated competencies. The base pay is one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package, which may include bonuses and incentives.
The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$101,200 - $192,000
The posted salary range reflects ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
