The Engineering Leadership Development Program (ELDP) is a challenging 3-year rotational program designed to accelerate the development of highly qualified, motivated engineers by exposing them to different program types, business units, geographic locations, and elements of the design life cycle. Participants are paired with mentors and have access to education assistance, robust training, and cross-functional engagement to accelerate career growth. Elements of the program include: Provide mechanical engineering support for new product development and factory support of existing products Translate product requirements into mechanical specifications and test plans Execute verification testing as defined by specifications Conduct design analysis and testing (structural and thermal) to meet customer requirements Understand customer needs, generate test procedures, and execute tests Process engineering change orders (ECOs) as required Collaborate with mechanical designers on CAD models and part documentation Software Engineering
Apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical concepts in software development for the target application Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop interfaces between hardware and software and meet performance requirements Support and participate in all phases of the software development life cycle for embedded software in real-time control systems Develop software test procedures, programs, and related documentation Utilize modeling tools to establish operating data, conduct tests, and evaluate results Participate in peer reviews, identify and repair defects Use languages such as C++, C#, C, Java, Ruby, HTML5, XML, SQL, Perl, Python, Ajax, Qt on Windows, Linux, mobile, and embedded RTOS environments Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Materials Science Engineering, or related field GPA of 3.0 or greater Ability to relocate every 12 months for the 3-year duration of the program Preferred Skills
CAD or analysis (FEA) tools exposure, and/or experience in mechanical design or analysis of electronic systems, structures and mechanisms Familiarity with transducer instrumentation, data collection, automation, and software programming for numerical analysis Structural mechanics principles to predict internal stresses and instabilities Ability to generate free body diagrams, determine reaction forces, calculate internal loads, and develop shear and moment diagrams Working knowledge of at least one programming language Familiarity with finite element methods and fatigue and damage tolerance principles Compensation and Benefits
Salary ranges vary by location; for some areas California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, Greater D.C., Denver, or NYC areas the range is $74,000.00 MIN - $138,000.00 MAX, and for Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, and Vermont it is $64,500.00 MIN - $120,500.00 MAX. Final offer amount may vary based on experience and location.
