Job Description Summary

The University of Kansas Health System, Department of Neurology, is seeking a neurohospitalist to join it's dynamic team and support the departmental mission of delivering the highest quality of care. Candidates fresh out of training as well as experienced candidates are welcome to apply.

In this role, candidates will diagnose, treat, and manage neurology patients in an inpatient care setting. Candidates will provide care and consultative services of acute neurological disorders. Schedules are structured with a "7 days on/& days off" model with the option for additional shifts per month or outpatient clinic for additional compensation. Candidates may be involved with clinical teaching and research if desired. Responsibilities also include duties assigned by the Department Chair or that are otherwise typically expected of a physician in the department.

Job Duties

Provide care for neurology patients in the inpatient setting. Diagnose, treat, and manage these patients in the hospital and on call. Participate in on-call coverage. Educate medical students, residents, and fellows in patient care settings in formal and informal group education formats. Minimally participate in scholarly activity derived from clinical activities.

Required Qualifications

Education:

MD/DO

This position requires a formal degree in the cited discipline area(s) to ensure that candidates have the foundational knowledge and skill set required to perform the duties of the position. The level of degree is based on accreditation requirements, institutional standards of academic and professional excellence, alignment with peer institution benchmarks, and contributes to the credibility and effectiveness of the role within the university community.

Licensure Or Certifications

Eligible for licensure in Kansas Board-Eligible or Certified in Neurology
