Overview
Interventional Spine Physiatrist position at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation seeks a BC/BE Interventional Spine Physiatrist to practice at the UNC Hospitals Spine and Imaging Center. The physician will care for patients with back and neck pain, musculoskeletal problems, and acute/chronic spine disorders, and will participate in educational, research, and administrative activities with a focus on non-operative treatments in collaboration with a multidisciplinary spine care team. Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive clinical care management for spine-related patients, including fluoroscopic and ultrasound guided procedures (epidural, facet, and sacroiliac joint injections). Collaborate with multidisciplinary spine care teams and departments; emphasize non-operative treatments such as physical and occupational therapy. Participate in educational, research, and administrative activities associated with academic appointment and area of expertise. Contribute to quality improvement projects and participate in on-call responsibilities as required. Minimum Education And Experience
The successful candidate will be board eligible/board certified in PM&R. MD or DO with NC medical license or willingness to obtain state license. Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, And Experience
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate across disciplines; interest in enhancing quality of patient care. Spine and/or Pain fellowship training and experience in an academic medical center preferred. Experience with procedures including SI joint injections, lumbar facet injections, lumbar medial branch blocks, lumbar RFA, lumbar and cervical epidural injections, cervical medial branch blocks, peripheral joint injections, and related techniques.
