Overview
Family Nurse Practitioner - NP or PA with Security Clearance for Spectrum Healthcare Resources (SHR) to support USMEPCOM. Based in El Segundo, CA, with potential to work at other MEPS locations regionally or nationwide as available. Responsibilities
Play a vital role in the mission of USMEPCOM—helping ensure that only the most qualified and medically fit applicants join the U.S. Armed Forces. Support the enlistment process by guiding applicants through aptitude testing, medical evaluations, security screenings, administrative processing, and transition into service. Conduct medical reviews, including applicant histories, medical evaluations, and analysis of test results to uphold medical standards established by Congress and the Military Services, ensuring readiness of the Armed Forces. Serve during standard USMEPCOM hours (typical schedule 0600-1700, Monday–Friday) with occasional weekend duty as needed. Work shifts ranging between 5 and 10 consecutive hours within the MEPS operating schedule, with duty schedules provided 30 days in advance. Experience: Two years in the last three years in clinical primary care, urgent care, or emergency medicine. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. For Nurse Practitioners: Active Nurse Practitioner state license; Master’s degree in nursing; graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program; ANCC/AANP-recognized certification for the specialty (e.g., FNP) by a national nursing certifying organization. For Physician Assistants: Active Physician Assistant state license; Master’s degree from an ARC-PA-accredited program; NCCPA certification.
