Key Responsibilities
Under the clinical supervision of the Director of Addiction Medicine, the Addiction Provider is primarily responsible for the following: Management of intoxication and withdrawal states Initiation and monitoring of Medically Assisted Treatment Evaluation and management of addiction related medical and psychiatric problems Conduct medical histories, perform physical examinations, apply screening tools, order and interpret laboratory tests, and complete standard documentation related to the treatment of addiction Collaborate with medical and behavioral health staff in the Central Intake Department, Withdrawal Management Program, and Residential and Outpatient Programs Provide direct patient care within HealthRIGHT 360’s Central Intake Department, Withdrawal Management Program, and/or Residential Programs Provide supervision for Advanced Practice Providers in Collaborative Agreements, providing input in clinical review, performance appraisal, peer review, and hiring/termination decisions Supervise the MAT healthcare treatment team in the absence of the Director of Addiction Medicine; this may include managing Medical Assistants and Nurse functions May require after hours work to assist Behavioral Health staff during night shifts and on weekends Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education and Experience
MD or DO degree from an accredited United States medical school Successfully completed internship and residency at an accredited United States internship or residency program Certification/Licensure
Board Certified in family medicine or internal medicine Board certified or registered in addiction medicine, or equivalent experience Valid and active California medical license Eligible to participate in the CMS Medicaid/Medicare reimbursement programs Valid and active DEA license with X waiver to prescribe buprenorphine Desired
Clinical experience working with people who have experienced addiction, homelessness, incarceration and trauma Training in motivational interviewing or recovery coaching Advanced knowledge in primary care-based psychiatry Background Clearance
Must complete background check and livescan clearance We will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
