Position Overview The role of a Relationship Associate ("Associate") is to serve as a direct and dedicated resource for the North America Business Development Team. The Associate will work under the direct supervision of their assigned regional team members.
Responsibilities
Provide flexible support to the BD Managers to cultivate relationships and bring in new clients/mandates.
Engage in research, data organization, administrative tasks, and direct external engagements (email, calls, virtual meetings, and in-person meetings).
Increase the number of high-quality prospect touch points (meetings, calls, events).
Maintain and expand prospect lists in CRM and external sources; build distribution lists for virtual events, email campaigns, and other distributions.
Prepare and send personalized and semi-customized emails to prospects; manage meeting scheduling and follow-ups.
Coordinate meeting logistics, calendar management, and preparation notes; contribute to presentation materials.
Research prospect information using Salesforce notes, web, and databases (e.g., Dakota, Broadridge, Market Lens, etc.).
Document and maintain meeting notes; translate meetings to prospect list tags.
Support competitor information efforts, including competitive analysis in Excel and organizing investor/events in North America.
Collaborate with Graphics, Performance Analytics, Operations, Investment teams, RFP, Tax, Legal and Compliance to facilitate prospect experience.
Understand GMO’s policies and procedures to facilitate information delivery to prospects.
Required Skills
2-3 years of experience in the investment management business
Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent)
Strong ability to create, operate, maintain and organize databases
Proficient in MS Excel and other Microsoft applications
Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong analytical skills
Demonstrated understanding of investment strategies and markets, including fixed income, equity and alternatives
Some basic knowledge of the North American asset management industry
Previous experience working with Salesforce or another CRM preferred
Will be required to pass Series 63, 7 and 3 within one year

Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $65,000 - $80,000 per year. This salary range is estimated and actual pay may differ based on qualifications and/or experience. Eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and comprehensive benefits program including medical, dental, life, long-term disability, a 401(k)/profit-sharing plan, paid time off, leaves of absences, dependent care resources, tuition reimbursement, charitable gifts matching, flexible spending accounts, and commuter benefits.
