Oversees the department in accordance with guidelines, policies and procedures and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees as well as addressing complaints and resolving problems. Education and Work Experience: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required Master's Degree: Preferred Seven years\' related experience in A/R Management and/or Managed Care contracting and analysis as well as experience directing a business office: Preferred Five years\' leadership experience: Preferred Essential Functions
Maintains timely preparation and accurate completion of eReserve including analysis of items/trends that significantly impact net revenue. Effectively maintains leadership, inspiring the cooperation and confidence of staff and other hospital personnel. Apprises the CFO of changes and unusual events within the department. Interacts regularly and positively with the Finance, sharing information pertinent to improving function related to AR (i.e.: cash collections, reduction of bad debt, credit balances, etc.) Facilitates revenue cycle meetings (preparation, facilitation and follow-up). Responsible for the review/adjudication of revenue reclasses, adjustments, refunds, charity applications and professional courtesy discounts. Demonstrates the ability to be instrumental in the establishment and achievement of department and hospital priorities and goals. Develops and/or revises policies and procedures, ensuring staff receives appropriate in-service and validates staffing compliance. Acts as customer service (phone, mail and/or email) – point of escalation. Assists in analyzing data to verify contract terms have been loaded correctly and claims properly adjudicated during and after managed care negotiations. Coaches, counsels and disciplines staff as appropriate and according to policy. Ensures all Human Resources and Administrative policies are adhered to 100% of the time. Ensures timely completion of performance reviews, orientation, ethics, .edu classes, and continuing in-service of staff. Maintains a supportive work environment by effective selection, orientation, management and staff growth and development. Timely interviewing, hiring, and training of employees. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Organizational Requirements
