Blank Children's Hospital, part of UnityPoint Health - Des Moines, is dedicated to children's healthcare, featuring a 108-bed facility designed for family involvement and tailored to pediatric needs. Responsibilities
Provide routine care and management of hospitalized patients, including newborn nursery care (Level 1 and 2) at Methodist West and Trinity Fort Dodge, as well as inpatient pediatric coverage in Des Moines and Trinity. This is a 1.0 FTE position, requiring 1840 hours annually, with a rotating schedule of day and night shifts based on operational needs. Recognize urgent situations requiring physician intervention and initiate life-saving procedures when necessary. Document findings accurately in the EMR and maintain proper records. Use data to identify improvement areas, monitor progress, and implement initiatives to enhance newborn and pediatric care. Maintain and develop clinical skills in pediatrics and newborn care. Provide patient-family education and counseling in collaboration with the care team. Communicate effectively with patients, families, staff, and diverse community members. Qualifications
PNP-AC certification One or more years of pediatric nursing experience preferred Current Iowa RN and ARNP licensure Certification as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner NRP & PALS certifications Valid driver’s license Benefits
