Director, Supply Chain - Distribution & Logistics (OPEN TO ALL U.S. LOCATIONS). Base pay range $150,000.00/yr - $225,000.00/yr. Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) focuses on serving the middle market and large cap private equity firms to improve operating results at portfolio companies. The PEPI Supply Chain group develops deep functional skills and tailored solutions to solve clients' business issues. Responsibilities

Lead and deliver large, complex client engagements with Private Equity leadership to identify, design, and implement creative business solutions for portfolio companies. Gain a comprehensive understanding of a client’s supply chain including manufacturing and distribution locations, baseline product flow and seasonality, operating costs, and key supply chain processes in sourcing, planning, and operations. Develop a structured approach to assessing potential improvement opportunities, and conduct required analysis to define supply chain strategies and tactics to meet growth and financial objectives. Analyze supply chain network design and footprints: Baseline warehousing and distribution network cost structure and capacity utilization Profile supply chain processes and inventory flows throughout the network Analyze network optimization opportunities for cost, inventory, and service delivery (experience with modeling software such as Llamasoft or other tools): Optimal number and location of distribution centers / network configuration Optimal inventory flow through network (e.g., ship from DC vs. ship from stores; supplier drop ship options; optimal stocking positions) Develop high-level planning model to support inventory optimization across supply chain networks Conduct sourcing events related to transportation and warehousing, including spend/activity baselines, requirements, and RFI/RFP processes; experience with 3PLs is preferred. Assess inventory planning processes and systems and recommend opportunities to optimize service levels and inventory working capital. Develop transformation plans to drive changes in transportation, freight optimization, warehousing & distribution, and provide implementation plans with estimated benefits (OPEX / inventory / service delivery). Implement and oversee the quality of deliverables and effectively manage the team and day-to-day client relationships to ensure exceptional performance.
