General Summary The Senior Medical Dosimetrist-Certified is a member of the radiation oncology team with expert knowledge of radiation treatment machines and equipment, focusing on O-ring systems such as Ethos and Halcyon. This role involves complex procedures beyond routine radiotherapy, requiring advanced education and expertise to generate and oversee adaptive and complex radiation dose distributions in collaboration with medical physicists and radiation oncologists. Responsibilities include implementing new treatment planning techniques, mentoring staff, updating protocols, and participating in research. Education/Experience Required Bachelor's degree in physical or biological sciences or registered radiation therapy technologist, with two or more years of medical dosimetry training and experience under supervision. OR an associate or other bachelor's degree with supervised dosimetry training and at least four years of work experience. Two years of experience as a Medical Dosimetrist. One year of hands-on experience with O-ring LINAC systems (e.g., Varian Ethos, Halcyon). Leadership experience in clinical settings. Ability to understand and communicate technical aspects of radiation oncology and physics. Ability to operate treatment planning software and perform quality assurance. Knowledge of radiation safety regulations. Mathematical skills including algebra, trigonometry, and calculus, with 3D visualization skills. Certifications/Licensures Required Certified Medical Dosimetrist, registered.
