Overview
Milton Hershey School (MHS) is seeking a full-time, 10-month Dentist (Pediatric or General) to join the Dental team. This position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality dental care to students from disadvantaged backgrounds. MHS operates three school-based dental clinics serving Pre-K through 12th grade students, with a typical clinic team including one dentist, two Public Health Dental Hygiene Practitioners, and one dental assistant or expanded-functions dental assistant. Clinics are equipped with Dentrix Enterprise dental software, digital X-ray sensors, intraoral cameras, and select clinics with dental lasers and nitrous oxide/oxygen systems. Location: Hershey, PA. Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive dental care for a pediatric population, including examinations, preventive and restorative treatments, and emergency care. Perform examinations and restorations; prosthodontics (including crowns, bridges, implants, and partials); limited root canal therapy; simple extractions; and timely specialty referrals. Conduct caries risk assessments; manage behavior in a student-centered environment; and communicate professionally with students’ parents and guardians. Make appropriate referrals to dental specialists as needed. Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in pediatric or general dentistry. D.D.S. or D.M.D. degree. Up-to-date continuing education/training requirements. Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Act 31-2 (2 hours every 2 years). Radiology/DEP – two hours every 4 years. Two hours in Pain Management, Identification of Addiction, or Opioids-related prescribing or dispensing. Demonstrates integrity and willingness to engage with students beyond job responsibilities.
