Duke Health Orthopaedics

is seeking an academically oriented board certified/board eligible orthopaedic surgeon fellowship-trained in trauma to join the Duke faculty. Duke Orthopaedics offers a uniquely rewarding environment where excellent clinical care is provided in the context of learning, teaching, and investigation. This new faculty member will be an integral member of the orthopaedic trauma team based primarily at Duke University Hospital, a busy Level I trauma center with 4100 trauma activations per year. In addition to covering a dedicated ortho trauma room, we seek a partner to

develop an elective focus on complex lower extremity periarticular reconstruction.

Champion medical student, resident, and fellow curriculum development in orthopaedic trauma, developing academic programs in orthopaedic trauma utilizing a rich academic infrastructure and collaborative environment

Opportunity to develop an elective focus on complex lower extremity periarticular reconstruction

Lead rigorous orthopaedic trauma clinical research on behalf of the trauma section, including prospective multicenter investigations

Faculty appointment with the Duke School of Medicine at the Assistant, Associate, a salary commensurate with experience, and robust Duke benefits offerings

Faculty mentorship through various programs and resources, recognizing its critical role in career development

Qualifications

Excellence in the areas of clinical care and surgery, board certified/board eligible orthopaedic surgeon fellowship trained in Trauma

A commitment to excellent patient care, as well as teaching residents/fellows, scholarship, research, and leadership on local and national levels

Special attention given to new/recent OTA-accredited fellowship graduate
