Overview Cape Fear Valley Medical Center located in Fayetteville, NC, is part of Cape Fear Valley Health System, North Carolina’s eighth-largest health network. The system serves communities throughout southeastern North Carolina and includes Betsy Johnson Hospital, Bladen County Hospital, Central Harnett Hospital, Highsmith-Rainey Specialty Hospital, Hoke Hospital, Behavioral Health Services, Rehabilitation Center, and multiple clinics. Annually, it serves approximately 1 million patients.
Responsibilities
Assist in directing and coordinating activities in the Anesthesia Department
Medical management of patients rendered unconscious or insensible to pain during surgery and other procedures
Pre-anesthesia assessment
Obtain and/or verify patient consent
Discuss anesthetic options and risks with patients; manage induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
Monitor patient’s physiological condition
Perform clinical interventions as needed
Qualifications
M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited College of Medicine
ECFMG and FLEX (if applicable)
Completion of an approved residency in anesthesia
Current medical licensure
Shifts and Team In-house call 4 times a month with weekend duty. The team operates in an anesthesia care team model, focusing on voice, collaboration, and care excellence. Leadership: Scott Everett, Chief Anesthesiologist.
