The primary purpose of this position is to function as a Staff Dentist performing a range of professional dental duties commonly encountered with dental diseases or health requiring standard corrective, preventative, restorative or rehabilitative care. Duties

This position is located within a hospital or healthcare facility for the Billings Area Indian Health Service. The incumbent reports to the Supervisory Dental Officer or designee. Requirements

Must pass pre-employment examination. Selectable candidate may be subject to a probationary period. U.S. Citizenship is required. Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959. This is a designated position covered by Public Law 101-630, requiring contact or control over Indian children. The agency must ensure that persons hired for these positions have not been found guilty of or pleaded nolo contendere or guilty to certain crimes. Measles and Rubella immunization required for selectees born after 1957. Seasonal influenza immunization is required for all staff working in Indian Health Service health care facilities. The selected individual is required to obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges, including any licensure requirements. Failure to maintain privileges may result in adverse actions, including removal from Federal service. On-call hours or standby duty may be required. To qualify, your resume must demonstrate sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the position. INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Dental Officer Series 0680 Applicants meeting basic requirements qualify for GS-11. Additional Requirements for GS-12 or equivalent: Completion of a 2-year residency in dentistry, oral health, craniofacial sciences, or related fields, or equivalent experience/training. Examples of specialized experience at GS-12 level include: Evaluation, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of oral diseases, injuries, and disorders, including procedures like decay removal, fillings, extractions, gum disease treatment, corrective surgery, denture measurements, anesthetics, and prescriptions.
