PRIMARY PURPOSE: Under direct supervision from the Beaumont ISD police department, provide security and protection for students, campus personnel, patrons, and district property.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED Level 3-Armed Security Officer License Must pass a Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) psychological examination Must complete and pass a Physical Agility Test, which consists of a Push ups, Sit ups, 300 meter run, and Body bag pull. Experience as a security guard, preferred Texas Driver License Must not have a history of criminal activity Ability to record information Ability to follow verbal and written instruction Ability to work effectively with students Ability to communicate effectively Must have a working knowledge of personal and property security techniques and electronic security systems Possess skills and interest in working within an educational environment Possess the sensitivity and maturity to work effectively with students MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Safety and Security
Assist in protection of students, staff, and district property. Serve as a security resource to students and campus personnel during the instructional school day. Serve as a security resource to students, campus personnel and community during non-instructional day events specific to assigned campus. Establish and maintain an ongoing working relationship with faculty and law enforcement personnel serving the school community. Assist campus administration in implementing the Campus Emergency Plan, in collaboration with the District Emergency Operations Plan. Assist campus administration and staff in the application and execution of all district safety protocols and guidelines as outlined in the district Emergency Response Guide and the district Facility and Classroom Health & Safety Guidelines. Ensure the security of the assigned campus/facility by conducting random and frequent perimeter checks to ensure exterior doors, fence line pedestrian gates, maintenance gates, mechanical room doors and other support facility doors are closed and secure during school hours. Identify unauthorized persons who come within the boundaries of the campus and verify their authority. Report all criminal offenses, originating on assigned campuses, to the district's police department. Prepare and file all appropriate reports. Appear in court and/or hearings as a witness or complainant when appropriate. Provide a general and consistent adult presence at critical locations during school related events. Provide a random security patrol on assigned campus. Respond to calls for service while on regular or call-out duty. Coordinate security services with Beaumont ISD police personnel. Provide appropriate assistance during disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes, fires, etc. (where Beaumont ISD personnel are required). Through the standard chain of command, inform the Chief of Police of all conditions that effect safety and security of students, staff, and district property Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the chain of command and or Chief of Police Equipment Used:
Two-way radio, CCTV, personal computer, alarm systems, and lethal and less lethal weapons, firearms, handcuffs

Ability to control sudden violent or extreme physical acts of others and exhibit rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously; may be subject to adverse and hazardous working conditions, including violent confrontations Environmental Demands
