Ground Test Summer Intern (May 2026 - August 2026) Assigned to Ground Test projects or discreet tasks requiring the application of general engineering principles. Project assignments will be associated with the planning, conduct, data analysis, or reporting on tests performed by the internal test team or by suppliers of outsourced components or systems. Potential assignments cover a broad range of test activities associated with helicopter structure and on board components and systems including dynamic components (blades, rotor head, shafts, etc.) and systems, transmissions, drive systems, flight control systems, fuel systems, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems, etc. The assignments require technical skills, interpersonal skills, management skills and personal initiative. The assignment will be accomplished while working under the immediate direction of a supervisor/mentor. Specific tasks may include: preparing for and conducting tests (fatigue, dynamic component, system level, etc.), post test data reduction/analysis, documenting standard work, review of supplier submittals and associated documents (plans, reports, specifications), writing test plans/reports and/or developing test requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

-Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical

engineering or Aerospace engineering or related discipline from an accredited college.

-Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.

Desired Skills:

-1+ years of college with a major in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

-Prior Engineering internship experience in a related field.

-Prior Test Engineering experience.

-Working knowledge of all Matlab.

Ability to Work Remotely:

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules:

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position:

4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
