Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced
Construction Estimator
with solid hands-on estimating experience in commercial construction. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of construction means and methods, can perform detailed quantity takeoffs, and has a keen eye for identifying cost-saving opportunities. Key Responsibilities: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects, including material, labor, and equipment costs. Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to identify scope, risks, and opportunities. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor bids to ensure competitive and complete pricing. Work closely with project managers, superintendents, and clients to clarify project requirements and design intent. Assist in value engineering and constructability reviews during preconstruction. Maintain and update historical cost data and unit pricing for future estimating efforts. Support the preparation of proposals, budgets, and change orders as needed. Qualifications: 2-5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator with a general contractor or related firm. Proven experience estimating commercial, industrial, or tenant improvement projects. Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, Sage Estimating, ProEst, or similar). Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and scopes of work. Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills. Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
