Children's Minnesota is one of the largest pediatric health systems in the United States and the only health system in Minnesota to provide care exclusively to children, from before birth through young adulthood. Our St Paul Mental Health Unit is a 22-bed unit that serves patients in a mental health crisis. We range from 6-years of age to 18-years of age. Our patients have an average length of stay ranging from five to seven days. Patients are cared for by strong inter-disciplinary teams that include program therapists, registered nurses, psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, occupational therapists, music therapist, art therapist, child life specialist, unit operations coordinator and mental health specialists. Position Summary The patient care manager (PCM) has overall responsibility for ensuring that services and programs provided through their assigned department/unit is child and family focused, clinically appropriate, operationally efficient, and achieves effective patient outcomes. The PCM will directly manage RN staff and assist in leadership of clinical support staff. License/Certification/Registration: Active RN on Minnesota Board of Nursing required Current BLS required Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing required Experience: 3+ years of people leadership experience or advanced degree in nursing leadership in lieu of experience. Informal leadership experience is preferred (charge RN, clinical educator, preceptor, etc.). Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Fundamental understanding of the business side of assigned department/unit (P&L, finance, budget, etc.). Availability for on-call and off-hours rotations/situations as decided by department/unit.
