Spartronics is hiring a Human Resources Generalist, who will be onsite, to establish positive and effective representation of the Human Resource Department through efficient activities in all areas of Human Resources within the facility. Major areas of focus are benefits, recruitment, management and interpretation of policies and procedures, consulting with facility managers and supervisors, and special project participation. Assists Human Resource Manager, as needed. We are looking for candidates with 3-5+ years of Human Resource Experience, who bring creativity and ideas to the team to help us constantly improve our processes and overall employee experience. What a Day Looks Like:

Ensures compliance with all required ITAR, safety, environmental, quality and security guidelines, policies and regulations and reporting, whenever possible, correcting violations in an appropriate and timely manner. Bring new ideas to the table that facilitate changes to improve our processes and overall employee experience. Manages medical and other leaves of absence to include workers compensation leave, FMLA tracking and monitoring, and tracking STD/LTD. Conducts new-hire employee orientations to ensure employees gain an understanding of benefit plans and enrollment provisions. Counsels employees (and potential employees/applicants) on plan provisions so that individuals can be informed benefit decisions. Assists with annual benefits open enrollment period at location. Arranges for distribution of materials from carriers; assists with communicating changes to employees and processes changes within deadlines. Strives to ensure employee understanding of benefit programs by proactively recommending and developing process improvements in materials and communications. Refers difficult or very complex complaints to manager as needed. Acts as liaison with various insurance carriers and fosters effective relationships with client representatives. Keeps management advised of potential problem areas and recommends/implements solutions as appropriate. Performs recruitment activities, interviews, and evaluates candidates for hourly and temporary employees. Maintains records in our HRIS system. Assists with preparation of the site annual affirmative action plan. Assists in implementing and rolling out new policies, initiatives, and programs. Assists in administering compensation and performance management programs Addresses hourly employees questions regarding interpretation of company policies and regulations in consultation with the Department Head. Conducts exit interviews. Participates in department meetings and attends other meetings and seminars, as required. Maintains company organization charts and employee lists. Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed. Maintains HRIS records and compiles reports from database. Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment. Assists with Front Desk duties and compliance with ITAR regulations. Performs other related HR duties as required and assigned. Information About Our Manufacturing Facility:

Our address is 2920 Kelly Ave, Watertown, SD, 57201. We have 120,000 sq feet of air conditioned manufacturing space and focus on Industrial and Medical Device customers at this location. The facility operates 2 work shifts (day and evening) and we have around 220 employees at this location. Requirements:

Education- Associate's degree or higher with a Business Administration or Human Resources or related field preferred. Experience- 2-5 years of progressive Human Resources management or business related experience is required. Manufacturing environment strongly desired. Effective working knowledge of COBRA, ERISA, FMLA and related state and federal regulations is required. Must have strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts. Must be comfortable with public speaking and presenting information to groups. Must have Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) skills and strong aptitude towards various business and HR software. Previous Paylocity experience is a plus. Strong analytical and problem solving skills and attention to detail is required.
