Job Title: RN Circulator – Eye Center Surgical Center
Job Summary:
The RN Circulator is responsible for coordinating patient care in the operating room during ophthalmic surgical procedures. This role involves preparing the OR, ensuring necessary equipment and supplies are available, maintaining sterile technique, and acting as the patient advocate throughout the surgical experience. The RN works closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare the OR for surgery, ensuring all instruments and supplies are available and sterile
Conduct pre-operative verification and time-outs per protocol
Circulate during ophthalmic surgeries, monitoring the sterile field and supporting the surgical team
Document intraoperative care accurately and timely
Ensure patient safety, comfort, and dignity throughout the procedure
Collaborate with PACU and pre-op staff for seamless patient transitions
Qualifications:
Current RN license (state-specific)
BLS and ACLS certifications
Previous OR or ophthalmic surgery experience preferred
Strong communication and critical thinking skills
