Software Engineer - (SZSWE0-001-119) Country Intelligence Group is seeking a full-time Software Engineer to support our client in the design, development, and maintenance of advanced software solutions within an Integrated Product Team environment. The candidate will contribute across the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, algorithm design, coding, testing, and system integration. Key responsibilities include writing and modifying Java-based applications for network-connected databases, designing complex data queries, developing and executing test procedures, and collaborating with systems engineers to ensure performance and security standards are met. Tasks Performed: • Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements • Debug existing software and correct defects • Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards • Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features • Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments • Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data Education, Experience and Qualifications: • Minimum High School Diploma/GED with at least 4 years of relevant experience • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or computer science with no prior experience • Experience collaborating with a team of software and systems engineers in an Agile environment to analyze requirements, derive user stories, track issues, and create user documentation • Experience developing Java applications for network connected databases • Experience test and debugging software code for network connected databases • Experience with Jira ticketing system for software development status/tasking • Experience with containers (i.e., Docker and/or Kubernetes) • Experience with Java development IDEs (e.g. IntelliJ, Eclipse) • Experience with Git and/or Gitlab, and Gitlab CI/CD • Experience with Gradle • Knowledge of ActiveMQ • Experience with Linux / Unix command-line • Experience with Agile development • Experience with Java • Experience with JMS • Experience with Mongo, MySQL, or similar • Experience with Jira • Experience with Confluence, SharePoint, or similar Other Job Requirements: • Minimum Active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph • U.S. Citizenship, and successful background check • Location: Fort Meade, MD Salary Range & Benefits: • $105,648/Year • 401K • Health Insurance • Dental Insurance • Basic Life Insurance
