Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Imprivata Tap & Go Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and ongoing support of our Imprivata One Sign platform, with a focus on Tap & Go authentication for clinical workflows. This role will be a key player in ensuring secure, efficient, and seamless access to clinical systems across our healthcare organization.
The ideal candidate will have deep experience in healthcare IT, identity and access management (IAM), and endpoint integration, with a strong understanding of clinical workflows, security compliance, and user experience.Key Responsibilities
• Lead the architecture, deployment, configuration, and administration of the Imprivata Tap & Go solution across all clinical environments.
• Serve as the SME (Subject Matter Expert) for Imprivata technologies
• Design and implement Tap & Go workflows that align with clinician needs, balancing security and usability.
• Integrate Imprivata with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner), VDI environments (Citrix/VMware Horizon), and Windows-based workstations.
• Perform upgrades, patching, and health checks on Imprivata infrastructure.
• Partner with clinical informatics, compliance, security, and infrastructure teams to align authentication strategies with organizational goals.
• Develop and maintain documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and best practices.
• Provide Tier 3 support for escalated issues related to Imprivata, proximity card readers, or authentication failures.
• Monitor system performance and user adoption; proactively identify and resolve performance or configuration issues.
• Lead pilot programs, system rollouts, and end-user training initiatives.
• Evaluate new features, integrations, and emerging technologies related to clinical authentication.

Required Skills & Experience • 5-7+ years of experience in IT, with at least 3+ years directly supporting Imprivata Tap & Goin a healthcare setting. • Strong knowledge of SSO, MFA, and IAM principles. • Experience working in clinical environments with integration to systems like EHRs, VDI, badge readers, printers, and roaming profiles. • Expertise with Windows OS, Active Directory, Group Policy, and LDAP. • Proficiency with Citrix or VMware Horizon environments. • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to support complex authentication workflows. • Understanding of HIPAA, security best practices, and compliance requirements.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience • Imprivata Certified Engineer (ICE) certification. • Experience with scripting (PowerShell) for automation and reporting. • Knowledge of clinical workflows and constraints in hospital/acute care settings. • Experience working in a 24/7 clinical support model.
